1. About UltCast
UltCast Pty Ltd ("UltCast", "we", "us" or "our") runs a live sports audio marketplace at ultcast.live (the "Platform"). Registered users ("Creators") go live with their own audio commentary on sport, called casts, and other users ("Listeners") tune in, usually while they watch the game. Listeners can choose to send Creators a tip.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Platform. By registering an account or using any part of the Platform, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Creator Guidelines. If you don't agree, please don't use the Platform.
2. Unofficial and independent
UltCast and every cast on it are independent and unofficial. UltCast is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any sports league, club, governing body, broadcaster or official partner. Team, player and competition names are used only to describe which game a cast is about.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Platform. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older and able to enter into a binding agreement.
UltCast is currently aimed at Australia. If you use the Platform from another country, you're responsible for following the laws that apply where you are.
4. Accounts
You need a valid email address and a unique username to register. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account.
You must not register with false information, impersonate anyone, or create multiple accounts to mislead others. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms.
5. Tips
Tipping is voluntary. Listeners may send a tip to a Creator during or after a cast. Tips are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor, and by sending or receiving a tip you also agree to Stripe's terms.
UltCast keeps a platform fee of 20% of each tip, and the Creator receives 80%, less any payment processing fees. Early Creators may be offered a reduced platform fee for a limited time; the current offer is shown at ultcast.live. Tips are non-refundable except for fraud or processing errors, or where the law requires a refund.
UltCast doesn't guarantee any Creator a minimum income. A tip doesn't buy any particular content or interaction.
6. Bet-free
UltCast is a bet-free platform. We don't run betting ads, take betting sponsorship, or show odds. Creators must not promote gambling on their casts (see the Creator Guidelines for detail). Friendly predictions and banter about the game are fine.
7. Your content
Creators are responsible for everything they say and stream on the Platform ("Creator Content"). UltCast is a user-generated content platform and doesn't pre-screen casts. By going live, you confirm that your Creator Content:
- is your own commentary, in your own words;
- contains no audio from an official broadcast, radio call, stadium feed, venue PA or other source you don't have rights to, including TV audio picked up by your microphone;
- isn't streamed from inside a sports venue;
- doesn't include live data from paid or licensed data feeds;
- doesn't use league or club logos, or suggest your cast is official;
- follows Australian law, including defamation law and the Australian Consumer Law; and
- isn't unlawful, harassing, abusive, threatening, discriminatory or sexually explicit.
You keep ownership of your commentary. You give UltCast permission to stream it to Listeners and to display your profile and cast details on the Platform.
Creator responsibility: you indemnify UltCast, its officers, employees and agents against any claim, loss or expense arising from your Creator Content or your breach of these Terms.
8. Sport, copyright and data
Nobody owns a sporting event or its facts. Scores, results, player names and what happens on the field are public information, and you're free to watch a game and describe it in your own words. What is protected is other people's expression and material: the official broadcast itself (its pictures, sound and commentary), logos and trademarks, and data feeds supplied under licence.
That's why UltCast is built around your own voice. Call the game play by play, react to it, analyse it or make it funny, as long as the words are yours and you don't use material that belongs to someone else. The Creator Guidelines explain this in plain terms.
9. Defamation and on-air conduct
Australian defamation law is strict. Opinions are fine, but false statements of fact about players, umpires, coaches or anyone else can expose you to legal action. This includes speculation about injuries, private lives or off-field matters presented as fact. We may remove content and will cooperate with valid legal complaints.
10. Complaints and takedowns
If you believe a cast or profile on UltCast infringes your rights, defames you or someone you represent, or otherwise breaks these Terms, email samroberts@ultcast.live with:
- your name and contact details;
- the Creator's username, the game, and the date and approximate time of the cast;
- what the problem is, including the words used if it's about defamation; and
- for intellectual property, what material you own and how it's being used.
We take complaints seriously. We aim to review each one promptly and, where action is needed, to act within 7 days. Action can include removing content, ending a live cast, or suspending an account. If we act on a complaint about your content, we'll tell you, and you can reply with your side.
11. Moderation and enforcement
We use a strike-based system. Breaching these Terms or the Creator Guidelines may lead to:
- a warning and removal of content;
- temporary suspension of your ability to go live; or
- permanent account closure.
We may skip straight to suspension or closure for serious breaches, and we may end a live cast immediately if it clearly breaks the rules. We respond to requests from rights-holders, regulators and law enforcement as Australian law requires.
12. Platform availability
UltCast is in beta and is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't guarantee uninterrupted access and aren't liable for loss caused by downtime or technical faults. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Platform, and may limit casts for particular competitions or regions.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent Australian law allows, UltCast's total liability to you for any claim relating to these Terms or the Platform is limited to the fees you've paid UltCast in the previous 12 months, or AUD $100, whichever is greater. UltCast isn't liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't be excluded.
14. Changes to these Terms
We'll update these Terms as UltCast develops. We'll tell you about significant changes on the Platform or by email. If you keep using the Platform after that, you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

UltCast Pty Ltd ("UltCast", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
By using the Platform you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information: email address, username, display name, bio, and profile photo when you register or edit your profile.
- Payment information: when you tip a Creator, payment details are processed by Stripe. UltCast does not store your full card details — only a transaction reference and amount.
- Casts: audio you stream through the Platform is transmitted in real time via LiveKit. UltCast does not store recordings of casts unless required by law or for moderation purposes.
- Communications: any messages you send to UltCast support or via the Platform.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, time spent, cast history, and interactions with the Platform.
- Device information: browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and IP address.
- Log data: server logs including access times, error reports, and referring URLs.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Platform;
- Process tips and facilitate payouts to Creators;
- Verify your identity and maintain account security;
- Send you service-related notifications including password resets and account alerts;
- Moderate content and enforce these Terms;
- Respond to legal requests and comply with applicable law;
- Analyse usage patterns to improve the Platform (in aggregated or de-identified form);
- With your consent, send you marketing communications about UltCast — you may opt out at any time.
4. Third-Party Services
UltCast uses the following third-party services to operate the Platform:
Supabase — database and authentication. Your account data, profile information, and cast records are stored in Supabase's infrastructure hosted in Singapore (Southeast Asia). Supabase complies with SOC 2 Type II standards.
LiveKit — real-time audio streaming infrastructure. Your casts are transmitted through LiveKit's servers. LiveKit processes audio in real time and does not retain recordings beyond the duration of a session unless a recording feature is explicitly activated.
Stripe — payment processing. Tips you send or receive are processed by Stripe. Stripe is PCI DSS compliant. UltCast never has access to your full card number. By making a payment you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
Vercel — serverless infrastructure for token generation and API services. No personal data is stored on Vercel beyond transient request logs.
We may also use analytics tools to understand Platform usage. Any such data is aggregated and de-identified.
5. Information We Share
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: with third-party vendors (as listed above) who process data on our behalf under appropriate data processing agreements;
- Legal compliance: when required to by law, court order, or government authority;
- Complaints: in response to valid copyright, defamation or other legal complaints, where we are legally required to disclose Creator information;
- Business transfers: if UltCast is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction — we will notify you beforehand;
- With your consent: in any other circumstances where you have given explicit permission.
6. Public Information
Your display name, username, bio, profile photo, and cast history are visible to other users of the Platform. Your email address is never made public. Listener counts and tips received by Creators may be displayed publicly on the Platform.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain it for longer (such as financial records related to tips, which we retain for 7 years as required under Australian tax law).
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, and disclosure. These include encryption in transit (HTTPS), secure authentication (Supabase Auth), and access controls. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you become aware of any breach of your account security, please notify us immediately at samroberts@ultcast.live.
9. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information;
- Request deletion of your account and associated data;
- Opt out of marketing communications;
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we have breached your privacy.

10. Cookies
UltCast uses session tokens (stored in your browser's local storage) to maintain your logged-in state. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You may clear your browser's local storage at any time, which will log you out of the Platform.
11. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
12. International Users
If you access the Platform from outside Australia, your information may be transferred to and processed in Australia and other countries where our service providers operate (including Singapore and the United States). By using the Platform you consent to such transfers.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via the Platform or email. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
Welcome, Creator
UltCast exists because fans deserve more than one voice on every game. You're here to bring yours, whether that's calling every kick, breaking down tactics, or yelling at the umpire with your mates. These guidelines keep you, your listeners and UltCast out of trouble so we can keep doing this.
1. The golden rule: make it yours
Every cast on UltCast should sound like you. Your words, your take, your energy. That's the whole point of the platform, and it's also what keeps it on the right side of the line. Nobody owns the game, but the official broadcast belongs to the broadcaster, so bring your own voice and leave theirs out.
Any style is welcome: play-by-play calls, passionate one-eyed supporter casts, tactical breakdowns, comedy, laid-back chats, casts in other languages, or casts for kids. If it's your own commentary, it belongs here.
2. What you can do
- Watch the game on TV or a stream while you cast. That's how most casts work;
- Call the game as it happens, in your own words;
- React, analyse, predict, joke and argue. Be biased if you like;
- Mention public facts you can see for yourself, like the score, who scored, cards, and team and player names;
- Cast from home, the car, the pub, or anywhere outside the ground;
- Cast in any language.
3. What you can't do
- No broadcast audio. Never stream the official commentary, TV or radio sound, studio segments or replays. Keep the TV out of your mic: use headphones, or turn the TV sound down or off. If broadcast audio is audible on your cast, we may end it.
- No casting from the ground. Ticket and venue conditions at most grounds ban broadcasting or transmitting commentary from inside the venue. If you're at the game, enjoy it and cast another time.
- No licensed data feeds. Don't read out live data from paid or official data services, such as advanced stats or live odds. Basic facts you've seen yourself are fine.
- Nothing that looks official. Don't use league or club logos, and don't call your cast "official" or suggest a league, club or broadcaster is behind it. Use team names to say which game you're on, nothing more.
- No defamation. Opinions are fine. False statements of fact about players, officials or anyone else are not, including rumours about injuries or private lives.
- No gambling promotion. No betting ads or sponsors, odds, promo codes, affiliate links, paid tipster services, or real-money fantasy promotions. Casual predictions with your listeners are fine.
- Nothing harmful or illegal. No hate speech, harassment, threats, sexually explicit content or anything unlawful.
4. Sponsorships
UltCast doesn't run ads. You may mention your own sponsors on your casts, as long as:
- you clearly tell your listeners it's a sponsorship;
- it isn't a betting or gambling brand;
- it doesn't suggest a connection with a league, club or official broadcaster; and
- it doesn't use a league's protected sponsor branding.
We may restrict other categories if we need to.
5. Tips and income
Tips from Listeners are processed by Stripe. UltCast keeps a 20% platform fee and you receive 80%, less payment processing fees. You're responsible for declaring tip income for tax. UltCast doesn't give tax advice.
6. Complaints and enforcement
We review reports from listeners and rights-holders and act on breaches. Depending on how serious it is, that can mean a warning, removing content, ending a live cast, suspending your ability to go live, or closing your account. If we act on a complaint about your cast, we'll tell you and you can give your side.

7. Your responsibility
You're legally responsible for what you say on UltCast, and you agree to cover UltCast for any claim that arises from your casts. We provide the platform; you own your voice.
In short: make it yours. Keep the TV out of your mic. Don't cast from the ground. Don't pretend to be official. Don't defame anyone. Keep it bet-free.
